I grew up in Hong Kong. When I was small, my mum cooked three meals per day for our family of four every single day, for more than 20 years. She is a wonderful chef and cooks delicious Hong Kong cuisine – steamed fish with spring onion sauce; chicken wings in oyster sauce, stir-fried crab with ginger and spring onions. My mum believes that a good mum should make delicious and healthy food for her kids. The biggest question of her day was – what should I cook today? 


My dad on the other hand, loves food and drinks. He is an adventurous eater and quite often brought home some special ingredients such as different kinds of whelk, eels, or some super fresh freshwater prawns he got from a prawn farmer friend of his. My mum would then cook them into wonderful dishes. My dad has a particular interest in seafood and he liked to wash down all these shellfish or seafood with a cold beer. 


Growing up eating delicious cooking from my mum; and seeing how adventurous my dad was, I slowly developed an adventurous eating taste. Being a mum of two now, I also take pride in cooking delicious and healthy food for my kids. And now that I am all grown-up, I can also wash down the delicious food with my favourite type of drink – wine.


I now hold a Level 3 Certificate in Wine by WSET; and have almost 20 years of home cooking experience. However, the biggest questions remain – what should I cook? What drink should I drink? To answer these questions, I started to record my food and wine pairing experience. And I would like to share that experience with all of you, with yummy Asian food, and affordable yet delicious wine.
